Slow cooker cottage pie

Ingredients

  • 500g beef mince
  • 700g potatoes
  • 100ml beef stock
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 celery stick
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tbsp tomato purée
  • 400g tin of chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Sprig of fresh rosemary
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp cornflour

Method

1. Add all the ingredients except for the potatoes to the slow cooker.
2. Cook on high for 3-5 hours or low for 7-8 hours.
3. Boil the potatoes and mash with a little of milk and butter.
4. Remove the bay leaves and the rosemary sprig from the slow cooker.
5. Put the meat mixture into an overproof dish and top with mashed potatoes.
6. Cook under the grill and top until golden and crisp.
