Belgian loaf

Mother’s boiled cake ideal with a cup of tea/coffee!

Ingredients

  • oz of margarine
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1cup of sultanas
  • 2 cups of self raising flour
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 beaten egg

Method

Pu margarine in saucepan and melt.
Add sugar, milk and sultanas
Boil gently for 4 minutes
Cool for 4 minutes
Sieve flour
Add flour and beaten egg and mix in
Put mixture in well greased loaf tin
Bake for about 40 minutes at 350F/180c (fan or fds BBC s 160c) or g as mark 4.
